SuperNanny Mind Control - Bad Thoughts On The Naughty Step!
If you haven't watched Supernanny, you should. More than once, at that.
What you will notice is that EVERY SINGLE PARENT believes ABSOLUTELY that THEIR KIDS are THE ONLY ONES IN THE WHOLE WORLD for whom basic discipline doesn't work.
They are totally convinced of this, and CREATE A REALITY WHERE THIS IS TRUE.
They give up too easily, do not follow through, and most essentially, DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS POSSIBLE FOR *****THEIR***** children to behave themselves.
And THAT is the PERFECT metaphor for people and their thoughts.
People honestly think and believe with all their heart that somehow, THEIR thoughts are worse, or different, or something OTHER than everybody else's thoughts, which can be controlled - but theirs cannot.
So with the parents of the "impossible" children, in strides Supernanny.
She's seen it a million times, knows EXACTLY what's going on, and she says to the parents, "Put the kid on the naughty step. If it gets up, put it back. Keep going until the kid breaks. After that, YOU ARE IN CONTROL."
The parents ALL cry, "But you don't know MY kids! They're different from all other kids in the Universe! It won't work FOR THEM!"
So Supernanny goes into action, and OF COURSE it works for their kids, who are exactly the same as all other kids (!) and the parents are totally astonished HOW EASY AND QUICK IT WAS TO REGAIN CONTROL.
So now, let's talk about YOUR NEGATIVE THOUGHTS.
Trust me, they are the same in structure as anyone else's, and they can be taught to behave and become good thoughts, helpful, kind, well behaved thoughts you have a lovely relationship with, just like those "impossible kids" on Supernanny can be changed.
All it takes is for you to stop thinking that what you're thinking is different, or that the wailing in your head is somehow something you deserve because you've been a bad person!
All it takes, is for you to put your negative, angry, wailing, freaked out thoughts on the naughty step to calm down, and keep doing it until there's that BREAK and silence rains upon you like a perfect blessing.
How do you put a thought on the naughty step?
First, you catch it and respond quickly.
As soon as a thought starts to behave like a naughty child, cursing at you, wailing at you, bitching, moaning, trying to undermine you, STOP.
Say clearly to yourself, "No, I'm not putting up with that. Get over there and stay there, thought!"
The thought will wail more loudly, whatever it is - "You're an idiot!" - "You'll never make it!" - "All is lost!" - "You're going to end up in prison!" - "No-one will ever love you!" and so on and so on, and that's also PERFECTLY NORMAL.
You have to stick to your guns, don't give in, and keep sending that thought away until that break occurs and the wailing STOPS DEAD.
The thought is gone. The bad feelings and stress went with it. Peace reigns.
Now what?
Now you think something YOU WANT TO THINK.
Something positive. Something pro-active. Something HELPFUL. Something useful.
Ask GOOD QUESTIONS.
"So. What shall we do now to earn more money?" for example, which is a huge improvement over, "Waaaah! I got huge bills and I can't pay them and it's all going horribly wrong and I don't know what to do ... WHAAAAAAHHHH!!!"
Of course, the vast majority of people who are reading this will now think, "Oh that's ok for everybody else - but it'll NEVER WORK FOR ME AND MY THOUGHTS!"

YES YOU TOO CAN CONTROL YOUR THOUGHTS.
Really.
